Work and Recreation

Work Opportunities

The Lamb Foundation offers job training and resume-building opportunities, as well as positions at our Sweet Repeats Family Thrift Shop. Here are some of our programs:

  • “Ewe Work” Job Training Program provides job training opportunities to residents interested in learning new work skills. Residents who complete the program successfully qualify for positions at Sweet Repeats Thrift Shop and Cornucopia Cupboard, our food pantry.
  • Resume building by holding part-time or volunteer positions within the Lamb Foundation. The real-life work experience we provide helps bolster residents’ resumes and skill sets so they can learn and grow and eventually apply for positions outside the Lamb community.
  • Career recovery after illness or tragedy by volunteering within the Lamb Foundation in one’s former chosen career path. We help many individuals who had been sidelined from the workforce due to life-altering illness or tragedy overcome their current obstacles by providing valuable work experience and helping to restore their confidence.

Social and Recreational Opportunities

The Recreation Director Pat Drumheller plans suitable, age-appropriate events, such as:

  • Dances
  • Picnics
  • Concerts
  • Art and cooking classes
  • Swimming and sports activities

Residents gather daily at our Ewes Mews Clubhouse, where they can take music lessons, participate in Bible studies, enjoy nutritious meals together, and more.

We also host weeklong Summer Retreats to nearby Camp Oaks, where residents enjoy:

  • Cookouts and campfires
  • Games
  • Crafts
  • Sports activities
  • Swimming
  • Boating
  • Fishing

Campers have the option to overnight in the cottages at Camp Oaks, or return each night to sleep in their own homes. We hold four getaway sessions each summer.

Travel Adventures take residents to exciting, new places via luxury motor coaches. Past destinations include Grandview Speedway (drag racing), Radio City Music Hall, Baltimore Harbor, and many fairs, festivals, and beaches.
